David Weissgold, MD
Dr. Weissgold (he/him) earned his medical degree from SUNY Health Sciences Center at Syracuse. He completed his residency at Scheie Eye Institute’s Department of Ophthalmology and his fellowship in Vitreoretinal Diseases and Surgery at Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary. Dr. Weissgold is certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology, and he has been practicing in Vermont since 1997.
Michelle Young, MD, FRCSC
Dr. Young earned her medical degree from Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia. She completed her residency in Ophthalmology at McGill University in Montreal and her fellowship in Vitreoretinal Surgery at Cole Eye Institute. She is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and maintains a Certification in Ophthalmology with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. She has been practicing in Vermont since 2004.
John Hinkle, MD
Dr. Hinkle attended college at Yale and earned his medical degree at University of Pennsylvania. He completed his residency at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, and his fellowship in Vitreoretinal Surgery at Wills Eye Hospital. He grew up on a horse farm in Kentucky, and moved to Vermont with his wife and two children in 2022.
Staff
Aaron, Practice Administrator
Aaron has been at RCV since 2010, helping to ensure that the practice runs smoothly at all levels. He has earned a B.A. in Literature from Burlington College. He spends his free time reading, listening to records, and spending time with his family.
Kristy, Billing Manager
Kristy has been at RCV since 2011, overseeing all things insurance-related. She resides in Georgia with her family. When not at RCV you will likely find her on horseback or in Maine soaking up the sun.
Tasha, COA, Clinical Manager
Tasha has been an Ophthalmic Technician at RCV since 2014. In her free time she enjoys horseback riding, reading, hiking, and spending time with her family and her horse Duke.
Becca, COA, Clinical Manager
Becca joined RCV in 2017. She graduated from Earlham College with a degree in Biology. When not at work, Becca can be found training her dogs, reading, biking, and disc golfing. A native Vermonter, Becca lives in Milton with family.
Tayler, Front Office Coordinator
Tayler joined RCV in 2022. She is originally from Southern Vermont and grew up playing basketball into her first year of college. She has her certification in Esthetics. Working at RCV has brought her interest in the medical field. During her free time, she enjoys bringing her dog Ryker to the dog park, on hikes, and swimming at the lake. She spends most of her days on the golf course. She takes joy in working with others in a positive, fast-paced environment such as RCV.
Sarah, Administrative Professional
Sarah joined RCV in 2023. She graduated from CCV with a degree in Business. Sarah is originally from Burlington VT and now lives in Milton with her 2 dogs, cat, and chickens. In her free time, she enjoys gardening, learning new crafts, and playing Just Dance.

Ashley, Administrative Professional
Ashley is originally from South Florida, and moved to Vermont recently for a change of scenery. She enjoys shopping with her daughter, attending concerts, listening to music, reading, and traveling. Her favorite season is football season, and enjoys Sundays in the Fall watching her Miami Dolphins games. She is currently attending CCV earning her degree as an Administrative Medical Assistant and graduates in the Spring of 2025 as a member of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society.
Candi, Certified Ophthalmic Assistant
Candi has been working in the medical field since 1996. She graduated from Spaulding High School and attended Johnson State College. She has been with RCV since its opening in 2005. She is a native Vermonter and lives in Barre with her husband and two children. She enjoys traveling, spending time outdoors, entertaining, cooking and passing the time with her family and friends.
Sam, Certified Ophthalmic Assistant
Sam started working at RCV in 2022. She is originally from New Hampshire and attended Saint Michael’s College, graduating with a major in Biology and minors in Chemistry and Religious Studies in spring of 2022. When not at RCV, she loves to go climbing, hike, ski, play rugby, and spend time with friends and family.
Dallas, Certified Ophthalmic Assistant
Dallas spent 7 years getting two degrees in Climate Studies before making a hard right turn and coming to RCV. He lives in Winooski with his husband, Josh, and his pet rabbit, Cindy. Dallas likes to spend his free time playing video games, making soap, and voice acting.
Taylor, Ophthalmic Technician
Taylor is from Underhill, VT. She graduated from SUNY Potsdam with a B.A. in Psychology and Speech Communications. In her free time, she likes to hang out with her dog, Hamilton and building things out of scrap wood.
Nate, Ophthalmic Technician
Nate lives in Burlington with his wife and two kids. He comes with great energy and appreciates the opportunity to work at the Retina Center. In his free time, he enjoys golfing.
Katie, Ophthalmic Technician
Katie joined Retina Center of Vermont in 2019. She has four dogs Gunnar, Mia, Mavis, and Zeus. During her free time she enjoys reading and relaxing at home with her husband and dogs. Katie and her husband are excited to have a new member of their family join them in May 2024.
Tavia, Ophthalmic Technician
Tavia joined RCV in January of 2022. She has been working in Eye care for about 4 years. She grew up in Vermont. She enjoys spending her free time with her husband Jerry, son Sterling, and her dogs.
