Since early 2020, out of courtesy and concern for patients during the COVID-19 pandemic, Retina Center of Vermont implemented a strict masking policy for all patients and staff throughout our office. While many medical offices began relaxing their masking policies in 2022-2023, Retina Center of Vermont did not, out of concern for the well being of our patients. COVID and other respiratory viruses such as flu, RSV, and colds can be especially difficult for those who are at higher risk of getting very sick due to their age and certain medical conditions.
As of June 1, 2024, Retina Center of Vermont will be relaxing our masking policy as follows:
Patients and staff will no longer be required to wear face masks when they enter the office or when they are in common areas. Masking will be voluntary in these areas of the office. However, patients and staff will still be required to wear face masks when they are in examination rooms, as these are areas where patients, doctors, and staff are in close proximity to one another. Retina Center of Vermont will provide face masks as needed for this ongoing requirement.
